The music industry is a vampire. Musicians dedicate their entire lives to making quality enjoyable music just for it to be robbed for AI or less than compensating royalties. Music is the realest thing for people, I don’t know anything more powerful, therapeutic, influential, expressive and culture related than music. One thing I can recommend if you are looking to try another alternative with your music is make it royalty free with copyrights and ask for donations or 1% contributions in the copyright license, this way you can own the copyright on your original work and also increase your exposure in a popular niche (royalty free music) and you can give more to your fans who will most likely appreciate your music more and will show their support since you supported them with a way for them to make money with your music without a crazy royalty contract. This allows more exposure and meaning when your fans work for you. This can be done on a personal website, just upload your discography and put a link to a PayPal / Venmo or whatever payment your website has for donations or for earning contributions in the copyright license. This way you get paid, they get paid, music lives on!
