I was thinking about my Car Line Forte Aire and how to make Autonomous Vehicles possible and it makes sense to design more than a vehicle that can drive just as good or better than a human but also an environment that assists the vehicle with its tasks and operations. Why are robotics competing with humans? Why are we wasting our time creating a robotic human? Computers are a whole new entire category with their own unique design, there is no possible way to make it human. This is why I think engineers should create robots and autonomous technology according to their unique nature. Anyways, it makes sense for assisted environments for robotics, that way they can function and learn easier. If we have cameras, sensors and LiDAR radars mounted on posts, buildings, parking lots, streets, intersections, etc. and linked to a wireless connection (WiFi / Radio / Bluetooth) then paired to an autonomous vehicle, there could be so much more we could do rather than invest in just a perfect driving robot. We could invest in infrastructure and software to speed things up and make it safer. If a vehicle only relies on its own LiDAR or cameras, that’s all it sees, having an external camera, sensors and LiDAR that can update the terrain conditions (weather, construction, traffic, objects) it can perform more efficiently. With contingencies and random events like accidents and new construction work, it could also keep domestic problems down as an extra security precaution. I know it sounds like invasion of privacy if everything is being monitored, but I don’t see it like that. There would be laws and regulations behind peoples privacies but this is for the streets and for traffic, not privacy invasion. I think we could get to the age of autonomous driving vehicles much faster if we have development in assisted environments.
